Judging Criteria

The procedure for nomination to The NATIONAL WHIPPET ASSOCIATION judging lists is by:

Satisfactory completion of the Association’s questionnaire, supported by a proposer and seconder. The questionnaire includes judging experience, dogs bred, success at shows and any other relevant information.

The nominees’ completed questionnaire is considered at the next full committee meeting where a decision is made by vote.

Compilation of the judges’ list is after the committee meeting in January of each year.

The committee of the NATIONAL WHIPPET ASSOCIATION would like to suggest to GENERAL CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW COMMITTEES that entries at their shows may require TWO judges. Many of the more experienced judges would be willing to judge one sex, without taking on the large entry of both sexes, which many of the well supported shows will draw.

For those budding judges out there, if you feel that you meet any of the criteria for the different levels of judging Whippets, please contact the Secretary for a Judges Questionnaire, which the Judges Sub Committee will be only to pleased to discuss at their meeting once a year and if appropriate vote you onto a suitable list for your experience
